Gimme indie rock! Two local stalwarts of loud-quiet-loud bring their different brands of intensity and earnestness.Clatter's indie night presents inventive, independent performers, and tend to be louder. The room is converted to a more club-style arrangement, and is mostly standing room only.
Ten dollars is required at the door, or ahead, and is worth it.
Mount Pom and the Storm is a quirky alternative/power pop band with whiplash arrangements that make the music and lyrics one thing, and somehow do not take away from catchiness.
Be Safe is often noted for a sound that evokes the twinkly, midwest emo bands of the 90s, and while that may be warranted, what they're doing is definitely of its current moment. Slow, but heavy, lots of builds and heart-on-sleeve lyrics. Mostly sad and beautiful.
